Stylish image sliding – SlidesJS

Slides is a jQuery plugin for creating a simple and clean image slider.

Unlike many other image sliders, Slides skips to the desired image without “in-between” slides.

So, if you want to get to image 1 from image 5, you get to it without delay.

Although Slides is very simple, it does have options: you can add image preloading; choose the starting slide; add pause on hover; etc.

You can find a demo on the plugin’s homepage.

Neat JS for surveys and quizes – jQuery clickable progress bars

Have you ever tried making a quiz or survey from scratch? You most likely needed a “progress bar” for the ending, or for questions.

If you have, you probably had trouble in dealing with fields that contain percentages.

Luckily, Pascal from contentwithstyle has released a neat little script that will help you deal with fields that have their values in percents.

Besides quizzes, which have an obvious use for this script, clickable progress bars can be used for JS games, donations, and basically everywhere else where you need to have an adjustable or fixed percentage.

A neat texture giveaway site – Plaintextures.com

We all love sites that provide value and focus on giving their visitors what they want, no frills.

That’s what www.plaintextures.com is about — giving artists textures they can use for free.

The site is easy to use. The available textures are neatly sorted into categories.

Plus, the front page employs a script that allows you to preview each texture you hover.

Plaintextures.com will prove most useful to 3D modelers, but even web designers will find a treat here and there–definitely worth bookmarking.
