Yesterday Apple finally unveiled its next generation iPhone. However much to our dismay it wasn’t the radically redesigned feature packed iPhone 5 that everyone was waiting for. Rather, it was a minor refresh of the iPhone 4, conveniently dubbed the iPhone 4S.
The iPhone 4S, as we previously mentioned, is a minor update of the iPhone 4. Don’t expect any cosmetic changes. The body of iPhone 4S is exactly the same as iPhone 4. Apple hasn’t made any changes to the overall design. The difference however is under the bonnet, so to speak.
An A5 dual-core processor powers iPhone 4S, delivering up to 7X more powerful gaming experience. Not just that, the A5 delivers more performance in every aspect, be it surfing the web, apps and doing just about anything you can on the iPhone 4S. One major update is the camera. The iPhone 4S has an amazing 8 megapixel camera with IR filter that provides more accurate colour. The camera is capable of recording 1080p HD video with auto image stabilization. With new face detection, this camera is smart enough to know whether you’re taking a portrait or a group shot. It focuses on the most prominent face in the frame and balances exposure across up to 10 faces. The powerful A5 processor greatly reduces the time iPhone 4S takes to snap a picture.
iPhone 4S will have iOS 5 installed by default. iOS 5 is Apple’s most extensive mobile platform update with over 200 new features including a whole new notification and messaging system. Apple’s iCloud services ensure that the data between all of your iOS and Mac devices always remains in perfect sync.
If what you have read about iPhone 4S till now hasn’t proved to be much exciting, be warned as Apple has done something very unique with the iPhone 4S. The new iPhone comes with Siri Assistant. Siri is just like your personal assistant. You can actually talk with it and Siri will do whatever tasks you order it to. Siri can read out your emails and messages to you and can send a reply should you dictate one. It can also set up your appointments, reminders, timers and alarms just by simply asking it to do so. Ask Siri for directions and it immediately pops open the Maps application to display relevant directions to your location. Ask Siri a question and it search Wikipedia and WolframAlpha for correct answers. Its your perfect personal assistant, except you don’t have to pay its salary.
