TaffyDB is a JS-powered database library, using object literals for data storage.
With a rich feature list and an amazingly small filesize (63kb nonminified), this database is easily an alternative to MongoDB; however, I don’t see security features addressed.
At any rate, Taffy remains a nice library even if a good documentation is the most it can boast about.
