Finally, after hearing countless rumours about iPhone 5 release date, Apple has sent out media invites for the iPhone 5 release event titled “Let’s talk iPhone”. The event will be held in Cupertino at the Apple Town Hall Auditorium on October 4 10 am pacific time.
Previously there had been a lot of speculation about the iPhone 5 release date. Initially, it was pegged at October 24 which was later refuted by Orange CEO who claimed October 15 to be the iPhone 5 release date. Earlier this week one very well connected source revealed that Apple will be holding the event on October 4 and turns out the source was right after all. Not all that, it was also revealed that Apple will not be organizing the iPhone 5 release event at any big venue in San Francisco, they’re going to organize it on their own campus in Cupertino California. Hence it has now been confirmed by Apple that iPhone 5 announcement will be made on October 4 at the Apple Town Hall Auditorium located on their campus in Cupertino.
We have been hearing rumours that Apple will release two iPhones this year but it seems like Apple has quashed that rumour in its invite. If you look at the image of the event invite embedded above, notice how the phone icon has a badge of “1″ and they write “Let’s talk iPhone”, if the company had plans of releasing two iPhones in 2011 as rumoured, we’re quite sure that the invite would have been a lot different.
Apart from that, one other thing that most of us are looking forward to is how CEO Tim Cook handles his first product announcement. Former CEO Steve Jobs had such an amazing stage presence that kept the audience hooked to his every word, it is certainly going to be a task for Apple’s new CEO to live up to those expectations, particularly because iPhone 5 is this year’s most anxiously awaited smartphone without a doubt.
The iPhone 5 is rumoured to be thinner and redesigned with a dual core processor with 1GB RAM. An 8 megapixel camera is said to be on board Apple’s upcoming iPhone. However all rumours will stand corrected on October 4 when Apple CEO Tim Cook takes the stage to unveil what we have all been anxiously waiting for. Apart from that, it is also possible that Facebook will release their iPad app at the event. Apple is also going to publicly release iOS 5 at the iPhone 5 release event.
So finally it has been confirmed to us that iPhone 5 announcement is being made on October 4 10 am pacific time from Apple Town Hall Auditorium at Cupertino California. We’ll be sure to bring you all of the latest news from the event.
