A quite recent report claims that Apple is planning the iPad 3 release event in early February. Since a couple of weeks there have been strong rumours that the 2012 iPad 3 launch is destined for March however this new report contradicts all of these rumours.
The report in question here hails from the land of Mackotakara.jp. A Japanese agency that has seldom been right about the Apple rumours it puts out. It has been right too a couple of times. They cite a source within USA and within a supplier of Apple. Frankly the reasons presented for bringing the iPad 3 release event date close are quite convincing. Let’s have a look at them.
Due to the fact that Chinese New Year festivities are starting off early this year, manufacturers who make Apple devices in China are going to shut down their factories for the whole week during which new year celebrations will last. Festivities begin on January 23 and go on up to January 28. Since the factories are going to be closed, Apple will fall behind on its production projections. So what Apple is reportedly going to do is that it will initially announce and unveil the iPad 3 in early February while shipments will begin as previously planned, in second week of March 2011.
It goes with saying that Apple needs to hurry up and release a new tablet. The competition in the worldwide tablet market is getting stronger by the day. CES 2012 recently happened and a lot of manufacturers showed off their amazing tablets. Announcing a new iPad as early as February will allow the Cupertino California company to maintain a lead in the market. Surely Apple releases that it is much more than a mere company. Its a cult. People will have something to obsess over and given the fact that its going to be an iPad, people will automatically start comparing it with competitors trying to see how they stack up against Apple’s latest offering. This is inevitable considering the fact that iPad has set the bar high for other tablets.
At this point in time though, nothing can be said for sure. All rumours must be taken with a pinch of salt. Apple is known for being secretive and unrevealing of its plans till the last moment. We might get a new iPad in February, we might not.
