Samsung Galaxy Note Release In US Promised For 2012

Samsung is known to manufacture some really amazing Android devices. The Samsung Galaxy S was a huge hit when it came out over a year ago. Earlier this year Samsung released Galaxy S II and it proved to be an even bigger hit so much so that it even snagged the smartphone of the year title from the Apple iPhone 4. Samsung has recently released a new kind of device. It’s not a phone, it’s not a tablet. It’s somewhere in between. It’s called the Samsung Galaxy Note.

On the other hand, Android platform is becoming increasingly popular with smartphone owners all around the world. Earlier last month Android chief Andy Rubin revealed that Google activates over 700,000 new Android devices daily around the world. During Christmas, there were over 3.7 million Android device activations in just 48 hours further substantiating the fact that Android has a steady future in the global smartphone market.

Samsung has tried to fulfil the gap between tablets and smartphones with this 5.3-inch Galaxy Note. It’s powered by Android that’s slapped with a UI developed by Samsung itself. At this point in time, the Samsung Galaxy Note is not available to customers in the USA. Regardless of that, Samsung has successfully shipped out over 1 million units. Critics expected that the Galaxy Note will not have a large amount of sales particularly due to the fact that it employs the use of a stylus. The iPhone, since its initial launch, has eliminated the concept of using a stylus with a smartphone and tablet. It was a pretty bold move on Samsung’s part by launching a device with a style when every other manufacture is making devices without them.

Also, do keep in mind that there will possibly be a slight change in the hardware of Galaxy Note before it enters the USA. Samsung might drop the Exynos chip and replace it with a Snapdragon chip only because the latter is more LTE 4G friendly. Nevertheless, this is only a rumour for now. Samsung promises that it will release Galaxy Note in USA, in 2012 however the Korean manufacturer has not provided an exact release date as yet.
