A couple of days back Apple finally revealed that it is going to announce iPhone 5 on October 4. Since we know that the iPhone 5 release is getting closer every single day, wouldn’t it be amazing to read every single iPhone 5 rumour heard or spoken of? The infographic embedded below depicts all iPhone 5 rumours that have come up on the internet.
The infographic kicks off from the day iPhone 4 became available in the stores. It further shows the many delays faced by white iPhone 4 which was released a lot later than it was promised. The story of iPhone 4 ends at the time when Verizon iPhone 4 is released and from there onwards the infographic talks about every single iPhone 5 rumour.
Some of the rumours that we have seen up till now have been preposterous to say the least. For example one extremely hyped about rumour was the alleged existence of an iPhone Nano. A smaller iPhone that would run on iCloud and would become Apple’s new entry level smartphone. All rumours about iPhone Nano were later refuted by more credible sources which said that at the time Apple has no plans to release a device called iPhone Nano.
So after iPhone Nano rumours were quashed, we then hearing details about iPhone 5 design and specifications. The iPhone 5 is said to be powered by a dual-core A5 processor with 1GB of RAM. iPhone 5 will have a larger screen, while being thinner than all previous iPhone. Tapered edges have also been rumoured as a possible design element. It is said that the iPhone 5 will have an 8 megapixel camera capable of HD video recording.
The real hiatus was about iPhone 5 release date. Every other analyst had his or her own prediction as to when Apple would announce iPhone 5. Earlier this year we kept hearing that the iPhone 5 will be unveiled at WWDC 2011, however at that event Apple didn’t say a single word about their upcoming iPhone. Later on it was said that iPhone 5 will be released in second week of September, that didn’t even happen. Finally the iPhone 5 release date was pegged in October, initially on October 24 a date which was later refuted by Orange CEO who said iPhone 5 will be released on October 15. A couple of days after that we heard from a very reliable source that iPhone 5 release event will take place on October 4 and indeed, the source was completely correct.
All of these rumours shall stand nullified as soon as Apple lifts the curtain off iPhone 5 on October 4 in Cupertino California. For the time being, reading all iPhone 5 rumours can give us an idea of what to expect from the fifth generation iPhone.
