The Instagram app was originally launched back in 2010. It started off as a small project and has since then grown its own cult of followers. Instagram has a vast userbase, which includes celebrities, musicians as well as the average Joe. Now Instagram 2.1 is available for download and it comes with a host of new features.
Instagram has over 15 million registered users around the world. Since the day it was launched, Instagram users have uploaded and shared over one hundred and fifty million photos. This is particularly amazing because Instagram for Android has not been released as yet, and these statistics are only of Instagram for iPhone, the only platform its available for up till now. It is safe to say that once the Android version comes out, increase in Instagram userbase will be through the roof.
The premise of Instagram app is very simple. A variety of amazing filters can be applied to pictures taken with the Instagram app. From within the app, these pictures can be shared across a variety of social networks. It is the filters that making this app amazing, as it is a very simple way of adding some cool effect to your photos. Also with Instagram 2.1, users will notice subtle changes to the overall user interface. A new Sierra filter has been added to the already extensive list of filters available. Developers have also added the Lux option, which enhances photos with just one tap of a button.
