QueryPosts is an online WordPress reference tool with an autocomplete option.
QueryPosts is regularly updated, and features new stuff from the newest WordPress releases.
But, you may ask, how is this better than the regular WP reference?
Short answer: autocomplete. Note that function explanations and examples are shorter — but not necessarily better.
Browser Support is web app for checking browser support of any given CSS feature.
The application is useful as you can see which CSS features are safe to use in any browser, and which ones are only supported by some certain browsers.
What’s more, the application even supplies on-the-fly results to make finding the exact feature even easier.
TypeStacks is a web app that suggests available fallbacks to fonts of your choosing, if there are any available.
What makes the app particularly convenient is that you can easily copy and paste the code into your stylesheets.
Apparently there’s a bit of an Easter egg when you enter “Comic sans”. I don’t see anything wrong with using Comic Sans, though.
(Just kidding.)
CSS2LESS is an application for converting CSS to LESS markup.
The service uses the CSS2LESS Ruby Gem, which you can use to convert files locally.
The service, I imagine, is also useful to people learning LESS, as at one time or another migrating developers start writing everything in LESS.
Google Optimized is a web application for an on-the-fly SEO analysis of your websites.
The app is free to use and allows you to test if your pages ‘check ‘ with common SEO practices, simply by inputting an URL for running tests.
Some of the practices against which websites are checked include the title’s character count, if the hyperlinks have “title” attributes, or meta tags aren’t too long, and so on.
Pointedly, the app also provides some insight about your domain and search engine rankings with important keywords.
Overall, Google Optimized looks like a tool that should at least set you off in the right direction if you’re set to make your website more search-engine friendly and are looking to increase search engine traffic.
Lastly, it’s simple to use even for those new to SEO, due to helpful tooltips explaining each term.
3D it! is a neat (but slightly buggy) web application that adds an extra dimension to websites.
3D it! is available as a bookmarklet, so it’s really easy to use.
Although, arguably, the effect looks more like parallax, the extra dimension seems to be looming around the corner at the very least.
