Selfstarter is a crowdfunding template for those who don’t want to use KickStarter or have been rejected by them.

Selfstarter is integrated with Amazon payments, but you can implement other payment providers.

This template is just a starting point for a custom crowdfunding website, so you are more than welcome to tweak it by adding, for example, back-end functionality. 

GitLab is a GitHub-like repositories hosting script that allows you to host repositories on your own server.

This is a very welcome project, because, you know, the clients are often very picky as to where the project will be hosted during development, and thus making collaboration nearly impossible.

GitLab runs on Ruby on Rails, and is free to download and distribute under the liberal MIT license.

Rack-webconsole is a in-browser console will help you to debug your Ruby on Rails applications. Rack-webconsole provides a Javascript-powered bridge to your Ruby application by using jQuery.

If you are using Rails 3 you don’t need to load jQuery because it’s loaded by default. After you have installed the gem you only have to include the gem in your Gemfile and it already works, without any configuration.

To fire up the console, just press the ` (backtick) key.

Rack-webconsole has been tested with MRI versions 1.8.7, 1.9.2, ruby-head, and JRuby 1.6.3.

The Ruby Toolbox gives you an overview of Ruby tools, sorted in categories and rated by the amount of watchers and forks in the corresponding source code repository on GitHub so you can find out easily what options you have and which are the most common ones in the Ruby community.

Locomotive is an Open-source Ruby on Rails CMS, which integrates seamlessly with Amazon S3 and Heroku data services.

Locomotive is still in its infancy, but already has a significant potential.

What you’ll like about Locomotive:

• Support multiple sites from the same installation.
• Cloud services make Locomotive ridiculously cheap for hosting countless sites.
• Awesome design. Even the backend is pure eye candy.
• Support for numerous data types.

What you won’t like:

• Still in the beta, prone to errors. It appears stable, however.
• Two templates.
