Noty’s homepage features an user interface for creating notifications. The interface is easy to use and creates the code for you.

There are a number of options one can use with Noty–easing animations, text alignment, and of course callbacks are among the most useful options.

Overall, Noty doesn’t bring much new that goes with notification plugins; however, the plugin is useful, and its strongest side is its ease of use.

Tipped provides an API that allows you to create beautiful and customized tooltips with jQuery.

The advanced library includes skinning tools; supports positioning, callbacks and events; and allows using advanced callbacks and events.

Tipped is pretty much “the” library if a project requires sophisticated notifications and tooltips.

js Message is a javascript library for seamlessly creating notifications, alerts, and dialogue boxes.

The library weighs a mere 3kb when gzipped, and doesn’t have any external dependencies.

js Message comes with a set of five skins, and under the generous MIT license.

Markup isn’t a chore, and you can create even somewhat complex notifications with about ten lines of code.

Notty is a jQuery plugin for creating notifications that don’t strike the eye.

The notification windows are titled; you can also place images and other content in them. They also have a timeout, and a nice slide-out transition.

Notty’s notifications are so good looking that you’d even implement them in browser-based games, not to mention applications.

jqMessageBar is a jQuery plugin for creating unobtrusive notifications for your web applications.

jqMessageBar is different from other notification plugins by providing the user with navigation when there is more than a single notification.

Its callbacks allow you to extensively control the notifications.

For example, you can make the plugin skip to the next notification (after some time has passed, presumably), show and hide the message bars when desired, etc.

What separates tooltipsy from the rest of the pack is that it creates room for designers to write their CSS, while many other tooltip plugins keep imposing messy restrictions.
