Bones is a WordPress theme built around the famous HTML5 Boilerplate.
Instead of aspiring to be a framework, Bones provides a per-project template just like the Boilerplate.
Among notable features of Bones are: mobile-centric and responsive approach; LESS/Sass for CSS; custom post types and dashboard functions come preloaded; etc.
Overall, Bones seems like a strong foundation for any WordPress project — it seems worth a try at the very least.
